Alok Dhir has extensive experience of more than thirty five years in corporate commercial and civil law with special focus on Corporate and Financial Restructuring, Insolvency Laws, M&A, Takeovers, Banking Law, Real Estate, PE placements, structuring of transaction, turning around of financially stressed entities in the country and issues related to Asset Reconstruction & Securitization.
He has served as a member of the NCLT Rules Formulating Committee, National Committee on Dispute Resolution by CII, Appointed by Indian Institute of Corporate affairs (IICA) on the panel of experts for the subject relating to corporate rescue and asset reconstruction and member of the core group on insolvency laws of FICCI. He has been recently appointed by IBBI as a member of Working Group constituted to strategize the approach for implementing the IBC and drafting rules and regulation for Corporate Guarantors and Individuals with businesses. He has advised and represented leading corporate houses /group companies facing distress and formulated plans for their revival besides advising and representing Banks, FIs, Bondholders, FCs and other stakeholders in various Tribunals, High Courts and Supreme Court of India.
Presently, he is advising a large number of Stakeholders in cases which are undergoing the CIRP process. He has appeared before BIFR/AAIFR in a number of cases under SICA (now repealed), DRT, DRAT, NCLT, NCLAT, High Courts, Supreme Court of India on behalf of many banks/financial institutions.
